Myrina is the capital of the island, located in a beautiful, safe bay on the west of Lemnos. The town is very picturesque, with traditional architecture, elegant mansions, and paved alleys.

The shore of Myrina is divided in the middle by a tall rock, upon which is built a Venetian castle, dating back to 1186. On either side of the rock are the two beaches of the town, Romeikos Shore and Turkish Shore. Romeikos Shore is where the town’s rich citizens used to live, and it is dotted with neoclassical mansions and charming squares. Turkish shore offers traditional charm, with its little harbor and many fish taverns.
